Just begun following you and I absolutely love your videos 🫶🏻 I use a moisture meter with most of my plants, and I wanted to know if I need to wait until my Calathea Orbifolia is completely dry before I water it again. Also, is it true that this plant prefers rain or filtered water? There is some browning at the tip of some leafs 😢 It’s planted in soil, not leca. Thanks a lot. Cheers from Switzerland 🇨🇭

I have never used leca. I have my mother's 60+ uear old Hoya. Poor girl has only bloomed twice in all that time! Mom never trellised her. I am trying to get her started on one. I think Mom must have kept her trimmed, as she doesn't have any long vines. I have all my Hoya in quick draining soil, but I i am curious to try leca now!

Hi Ms. Nora! Thank you for a great, informative video. I so appreciate you sharing about this. I purchased the balls you used to grow new roots but it didn't work well for me. Well, looking at how you did this using what looks like saran wrap around the sphagnum moss and then closing the ball over the plant area as you did might give me better results. I'm going to give it a try and let you know. Thanks. And, if you did a video on when you started that process, many of us would sure appreciate seeing it. Thanks again for continuing to educate us!

I have unalived all of mine too but I keep trying and have found that self watering pots are amazing for alocasias. They are now thriving.

I never had any mold until I had a humidity issue this summer. I don’t believe it is a contamination issue. Many of my plants and moss poles started molding. I had to get dehumidifiers.

Am a beginner I’ve lost a calathea orbifolia, got a sick spider plant an now a alocasia is hating on me ( think she was over watered at the nursery) as I only had her 2 weeks . I bottom water all my indoor plants with bottled water .watching you am learning a lot of my mistakes I have learnt from .

I've been using leca balls as a riser. I place them to the depth required and put the nursery pot on top. I do this partly to increase the humidity. Do you have an opinion on this? I'm new to the whole leca thing.
